India's Struggle for Global Leadership in an Explosive Era

In a time of global unrest and shifting power dynamics, India, often touted as a rising superpower, has been criticized for failing to assert its leadership on the world stage. Despite its economic growth and strategic importance, India appears to be taking a passive stance, seeking approval from various global powers rather than leading with conviction. This approach has led to perceptions that India is merely trying to appease all sides, rather than carving out its own distinct path. On issues like climate change, trade, and geopolitical conflicts, India's position often seems cautious and reactive. For example, in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, India has been reluctant to take a firm stance, opting for neutrality rather than leading diplomatic efforts for peace. Similarly, on climate change, while India has made commitments, it often seems to be balancing between the demands of developed nations and its own developmental needs, rather than championing a bold, forward-thinking agen...

When was the first electric lamp lit in Visakha? What is the interesting story behind it?

The first electric lamp was lit in Vishakhapatnam on April 1, 1902. It marked a significant milestone for the city, as it became one of the first cities in India to be illuminated using electricity. The interesting story behind this event involves Visakha Singh, a visionary and philanthropist who played a crucial role in bringing electricity to the city. Legend has it that Visakha Singh had traveled extensively and observed the benefits of electric lighting in other parts of the world. Upon returning to Vishakhapatnam, he was determined to bring this modern technology to his hometown. Understanding the importance of adequate lighting for the city's progress, he embarked on a mission to install an electric lamp. Visakha Singh faced several challenges during his endeavor, including convincing the local authorities and raising funds for the project. However, his enthusiasm and determination eventually paid off. With the help of like-minded individuals and support from the government, ...

Lok Sabha: IT'S HAPPENING - No confidence motion in a state of inertia

We are more interested in debating and discussing on India’s past like British India, Indian history, geography etc which the topic and subject could be more suitable for writing books on them in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi or doing translation work from one parent language to another language in books such as Ramcharitmanas by Tulsidas, Kabir Das, Rahim Das etc. Your future will be very thankful to you for spreading and getting the message to more people. We get too emotional when such topics as culture, history, geography is brought before us forgetting the work on hand before us and where we are. The parliament house is where politics is debated and discussed and to pay our respects to our peers who are with us no more etc. When we are expected to debate on subjects on politics, governance, administration, health and finance in the parliament we tear us apart. Then what exactly are we going to vote on at the end of the no confidence motion? Is it going to be like a true or false answer pap...

India: UCC a ninety-minute football match

UCC or Uniform Civil Code is no more than a ninety-minute football match. Let me come the last paragraph in the beginning itself so it will have some humour. In India we have to first develop our competitive sports to be at par with the top 10 developed countries in the world in major sports competitions like the Olympics etc. and to reach the top in major tournaments like the Wimbledon in tennis etc. and we know where we are in the moment after 75 years of India’s Independence. We have not won at the top in any of the major tournaments in games or sports and we know the truth that even competitors representing from Africa, South America have made it to the top in the world and ironically we represent to be the largest the democracy in the world. Coming to UCC as I have said earlier it is a ninety-minute football game. So how many goals each team scores in the first half, the second half and in the case of a tie it will go to extra time. The referees in this game will be our courts say...
