Two years ago exactly on this day Beirut experienced a massive blast in one of it's ports. Whereby large amounts of nitrous compound had been stored nearby with the owners not claiming it for very long. Which came as a shipment to the ports. Having left the highly combustible and toxic cargo uncared for improperly has been the cause of the blasts. Thousands of people injured and left tens of thousands homeless. The blast torn apart buildings and homes nearby shattered and completely damaged. For two years hence, the investigation had been stalled. This was a human rights issue for the the nature how human lives were not adequately safeguarded. The repercussions of this blast and the heat due to the summer is being felt in the region. The people who were responsible is still unclear and in limbo. There has to be major steps to be taken in this direction.
