The news is not one in a million that demands answers. We should question first why there has to be a Commission for Human Rights Violations in the United Nations if a student is being punished for not using a term stipulated by the teacher? First question is this was a paper about transgender women and men in relation to biological women and men on the same capacity which the student was expected to finish. Simply for not using the term women and instead biological women the student was given zero everything else in the paper written well and precise.
We see discrimination at all levels from salaries paid and opportunities open equal to all men and women. Hence, this is not a case in isolation or in a million that demands answers. Reminds me of a famous quote by Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd US President who said, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Seldom have we held to the truth as said by Thomas Jefferson.
I remember when I was a student exploring the terms I could use in my essays and papers. I always enjoyed writing that way instead of the mundane terms in the subject. No one has appreciated me, the reason being I didn’t want to sound like a parrot. Hopefully, in the least the student must not be punished.
