This is the update from where we left yesterday in conflict in Northern Israel and from Beirut

With a new day passed the hope of reaching a peace agreement for the Middle East conflict has shown no sign of change in the last 24 hours. The Israel-Hamas war in Gaza has exposed more distance that has to be covered for any practical peace agreement to arrive in the next few days.

Fewer than the old peace deals that have been shelved for one or other reasons the Hamas or the Israeli side refused to agree on a peace settlement in the region there are no other new plans or proposals that have come from the UN or from the warring sides.

Work is as usual on yet another new day morning.
