UNGA Annual Meeting 2024: Key Issues Dominating the Global Agenda

The annual meeting of the UNGA is happening right now in New York. Top of the agenda tabled before the meeting are:

Afghanistan: No relief in sight for the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, higher education for women and girls since the Taliban takeover from a democratically elected government three years ago.

Ukraine: The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war in the East started three years ago. No likelihood of a peaceful resolution in the future with Russia acting as a roadblock in the UNSC. Zelensky on a week-long visit to discuss a "victory plan" for Ukraine from the Russian aggression.
