Afghanistan: Only days apart

Just days away are we from Kabul when the Taliban regime will be celebrating the first anniversary after takeover from the old regime led by ex-president Ashraf Ghani. A recap of the incidents that led before and after the takeover on 15th August 2022 by the Taliban will be fitting to discuss in this article because of the 1st anniversary of the Taliban regime in kabul after 25 years.

Before:
Afghanistan is the only muslim country in the world which has been going through a series of disaster one followed by another like a domino effect. Begining with the soviet withdrawal the taliban came to power. When the taliban were in power the regime was not Afghanistan wasn't given the status of a nation, instead countries rejected them as a terrorist state. This included human rights abuses, hijacking, religious intolerance, fundamentalism, freedom of speech bans, underdevelopment, economic crisis, drugs and the list can go on. Since this began spread with a solid base the west and others saw it as a threat for other nations including the west which came openly against the regime. The western alliance took over sending the talibans into hiding and handing over of the regime to a culture sensitive afghan people. All this time the west was giving it's support for the democratic regimes for the next 20 years. The united states was a biggest ally of the new democratic regime extending support. In January of 2021 the US thought it was a perfect time to leave Afghanistan fully in the control of the Afghanistan alone. The taliban has been closely following the developments from their hideouts and preparing themselves for this opportunity to takeover power this time.

After:
The taliban seized power from the ruling democratically elected government and the president of afghanistan fleeing to save his own life left Afghanistan. The taliban celebrated their victory. The west was withdrawing at the same time. Millions of people had to flee afghanistan for safety of their own lives starting a new refugee crisis. The taliban promised to not to act in the same old ways as in the 90s. They assured to act more civilized this time. Since nothing was happening as they said the same old human right abuses, denial of education to women and girls, abuses in the name of islam (there's universal condemnation from their own muslim men and women for their interpretation of islam), drugs are back on streets, hunger, poverty, health crisis and what not? In this present state of affairs the ruling taliban will be celebrating their first anniversary of a regime the world hasn't accepted yet. Millions of afghan civilians are the worst sufferers of this crisis having to go through everyday suffering for all the above reasons. There are national plans for celebration on this anniversary. It's worse even than a hand to mouth situation when so many others are having so many good things in life even among their own muslim ruled countries in the world.

For this situation to be reversed diplomatic relations must first begin within their own muslim ruled countries and then with other non-muslim ruled nations. If the taliban insist of being other muslim and non-muslim recognised countries must start to accepting the taliban regime. This will pave the ways for opening diplomacy to a regime which is in isolation. The taliban must open doors for dialogue and diplomacy putting a full stop for all fairy tale lies. This can happen within the next thirty days starting with opening of a neat, well staffed and equipped home office to begin dialogue with others. This will pave the way for in the future for other more open dialogues with others.

The Rust Shooting Incident: Misconceptions and Facts

The wrongful confinement of Alec Baldwin for three years in relation to the "Rust" shooting incident starkly illustrates the issues plaguing the U.S. judicial system today. Baldwin's case, which stemmed from an on-set accident resulting in the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, highlighted significant flaws in the legal process. Firstly, the prolonged detention of Baldwin, despite the absence of substantial evidence proving criminal intent, underscores the tendency of the judicial system to prioritize punitive measures over a fair assessment of individual circumstances. Baldwin's role as an actor and producer should have been carefully scrutinized to distinguish between negligence and criminal liability. However, his extended confinement suggests a rush to judgment and a failure to uphold the presumption of innocence. Secondly, this case reveals systemic inefficiencies and bureaucratic delays within the court system. A three-year detention period before ...

Mortimer: The story of Walt Disney’s Mortimer’s flop and success

In the early 1960s, Walt Disney was at the peak of his success. His animation studio had produced some of the most beloved and iconic characters in history, including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. But as the years went by, Disney began to feel that his studio had grown stagnant. He wanted to create something new, something that would challenge his animators and captivate audiences in a way that his previous works had not. That's when Disney stumbled upon a character that would change the course of his studio's history. His name was Mortimer, and he was a mischievous little boy with a shock of curly brown hair and a devilish grin. Disney was immediately taken with Mortimer's potential, and he knew that he had found something special. But there was a problem. Mortimer was not the kind of character that Disney's audience was used to seeing. He was too wild, too unpredictable. Disney's wife, Lillian, was particularly opposed to Mortimer, and she urged her hu...

Ukraine’s Soldiers at the Front: Battling in the Deadliest Conflict Zones

As the war in Ukraine continues to rage, certain front lines have become synonymous with extreme danger and unrelenting violence. The soldiers on these battlefields face some of the fiercest fighting in the entire war, making their stations among the most dangerous places to be in Ukraine’s ongoing defense against Russian forces. One of these deadly front lines lies in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, part of the broader Donbas, a war-torn zone that has been at the epicenter of conflict since 2014. This area remains a strategic focus for both sides, as Russian-backed separatists seek to solidify their territorial claims, and Ukrainian forces fight for control over key cities and towns that would provide them with a vital military and logistical advantage. The Hellscape of Bakhmut: A Case Study Perhaps no city better exemplifies the sheer brutality of the war than Bakhmut, a town that has seen constant battle for months. Once home to a vibrant community, Bakhmut now lies in ruins. The o...
