As thousands are evacuated the Greek island has so far at least nineteen thousand who have been evacuated. Most of them tourists visiting to abate the heat elsewhere in their homes, as fate would put it nature did not spare even the holiday makers. Notwithstanding another island Corfu is come under wild fires and the authorities have informed that there could be more islands coming under wild fires.
Local firemen are saying the fires are under control brazing the heat to control the raging wildfires from creating more chaos and confusion. Evacuated tourists are being rescued by boats and trucks and have been sheltered in school buildings and other public buildings. Tourists trying to escape are saying different stories. An older male tourist said that he had to walk twelve miles before by foot before he was on rescue transport to a shelter and the story continues with every tourist with his or her own story raging as fire. Rescue and monitoring teams from the Red Cross have reached the island. UK has sent special planes to fly back its nationals. This post is timed on the current situation in Greece.
