Actually companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Apple don’t pay much tax compared to their income. So the FTC appeals to stop Microsoft from taking over Activision, which would give undue advantage to them over smaller companies entering the market. The takeover would actually, if it goes through would actually push back innovation the industry needs years behind which would be a serious and heavy blow for the industry. The FTC should fight with an argument that would monopolise the industry in one hand and consider countering with an argument not to allow Microsoft to monopolize instead to pay a 60% tax on its income (that’s peanuts for them) in the last five years and then it could go ahead with its idea to buy Activision.
